For those of you who don’t know us, Wolf Pack Management (WPM) is a self-funding voluntary organisation, based in Combe Martin, dedicated to the wellbeing of captive and wild wolves and canids all over the world. WPM was founded by Shaun Ellis, a Wolf and Canid Behaviourist.  Shaun’s work here is committed to furthering the welfare of wild and captive wolves through out the world, promoting knowledge and awareness of the plight of the wolf, and improving mankind’s knowledge of wolf behaviour through research & education. At present his research is primarily directed towards developing humane and wolf-friendly methods of containment to discourage wild wolves from entering areas where wolf and human conflicts may arise. During the course of his life he has spent considerable periods of time living amongst wolves. His studies have taken him from the wildlife parks of Great Britain to the wilds of North America and Poland. Shaun carried out a seven year study of wolves in Idaho where he lived with the Nez Perce Indians. He has even lived among wolves as a pack member - he reared and taught a pack of young wolves who were born at the Park but abandoned by their mother. Shaun lived, slept and ate with the pups, giving them lessons in all aspects of wolf behaviour that will be central to their lives.
